As we shared in our previous post, we recognized early on that experiential learning opportunities would be a core pillar of Open Horizon’s programmatic partnerships.

As you have seen us name before, we value the question: “how can we center social justice partner needs?”

In 2025, Open Horizon intends to look back, reflect on the lessons from 2024, be grateful for now and the present moment in community with our partners, and look forward with curiosity around the guiding questions and needs from our cousins.

We may simultaneously love and loathe this time. The opportunity to reflect on the awesomeness that we’ve had this year coupled with the option of remembering and longing for the nourishing experiences again —

Affinity spaces are essential. These similar-identity groupings allow for conversations in which you can drop your guard and communicate in ways that don’t require code-switching.
