Open Horizon is grateful to welcome another year. We are intentionally establishing a culture of wellness that centers rest “as resistance” and we are slowly transitioning from deep hibernation.
We are eager to start the year in connection with our 2024 annual Leaders Retreat happening in a couple of weeks. We are looking forward to engaging a few new partners, some partners who were unable to join us last year, and returning leaders with the hope that the dynamic coach-facilitated experience is yet another successful way to start the year with reflection, connection, and renewal.
Some questions we are centering this January at our retreat include: “What wisdom do you have to share and what wisdom do you seek in community?” “In what ways do you and can you center wellness?” “In what ways are you nourishing your whole Self in 2024?”
On the horizon, our team is soon to close the extended offering of a funded coaching certification for up to two leaders of our partner organizations. As an organization that recognizes the importance of our accessing individual freedom toward our collective liberation, Open Horizon is partnering with Coaching for Healing Justice and Liberation (CHJL) to increase the number of coaches in crucial social justice movement spaces. Coaching skills translate to management, leadership, organizing, facilitating, and so much more.
As we learn more about our new partner, we are excited to amplify the program. The 4th cohort of CHJL’s 9-month Liberatory Coaching Program invites applicants who are:
- Leaders across various roles and sectors of movement.
- Open to connecting with Spirit and Ancestors.
- Ready to deeply embrace an anti-systemic oppression analysis as a means to self-reflect and heal trauma
- And are willing to do so in a multi-racial, gender expansive space
